Twisted Serenity - What Inspired Me And How I Did The Look

Hi guys! I’m back with a new blog post about one of my recent make up looks!

I will walk you through the process of me creating this look and talk about what made me come up with it. Let’s start with some inspiration that got the wheels in my head turning, shall we?

The first thing that gave me the itch to create on the 22nd of September was me rewatching some Fashion Week wrap ups by MAC, those for some reason always flood me with creativity. Another point of inspo had been the few talks I had that day about how I really enjoyed the “ugly” and kind of twisted types of fashion make up. I then sat down to draw some face charts, one of them being the corresponding one to the look you’ve gotten to see. I really wanted to put out something twisted but still soft, but then again “ugly”. Simply put; I wanted to explore. I never really was afraid to create something weird, so I just went with it and picked out an outfit for my photoshoot that I conducted myself, with myself in frame. I usually didn’t like to be in front of the camera too much, but I decided to go with it for this specific look (and another one that’s coming soon), also reminded about me not necessarily fitting the norm. But that’s what I came to defy anyways, so why not? So I sat down and took these shots you have been seeing on Instagram, Facebook etc.

The look consists of some light foundation by Peripera, some lilac liner by Colourpop, some white liner by MAC and some creme colours by Danessa Myricks. After one soft layer of foundation I applied two creme colours mixed with each other, one rather rosy and a brown one, right on my dark circles and the lower lash line, to make myself look haunting or sick and dragged it up on my lid (I covered approx. 1/3 of the lid). I added the white liner on my water line to open up my eyes and give myself a more doll-like look. Then I put some of the lilac liner on the inner 2/3 of my lash line. As the finishing touch I put some of the creme colour on my lips and buffed it out, a bit outside of my lip line too. And that’s basically it.

Hope you enjoyed this little walk through,

Love, Jasmin
